La boissonerie

I left the country where I was born,
To chase the light of distant dawn,
And found a place where skies unfurl,
A canvas wide, a new world’s swirl.

The streets are strange, the voices blend,
Yet every corner feels like friend.
A melody I’ve yet to learn,
But with each step, the edges turn.

The food, the air, the rhythm’s grace,
A softer pulse, a slower pace.
In every face, a welcome shines,
Like sun through rain, like twisting vines.

The past, a shadow in the mist,
Fades gently like a lover’s kiss.
Though I carry it in quiet folds,
I find new stories yet untold.

Here, the days stretch wide, unbroken,
A language unspoken, yet golden.
The winds that sing are soft, but sure,
And in this place, I feel secure.

I do not yearn for what I left,
The weight, the walls, the things bereft.
For in this soil, I plant my feet,
And with each breath, I feel complete.

The world is vast, but here I bloom,
A quiet flower in a room
Of endless light, of winds that call,
A peaceful heart that knows it all.

And though I roam, I have arrived,
Not lost, not searching, but alive.
In this new land, where dreams take flight,
I’ve found my home, my heart, my light.
